“The finesse, the thoughtfulness and depth of the performance could not be surpassed.” — Berliner Morgenpost

Internationally recognized as one of the world’s foremost quartets, the American String Quartet celebrates its 37th season in 2012–2013. Critics and colleagues hold the Quartet in high esteem and many of today’s leading artists and composers seek out the Quartet for collaborations.
In July 2012, the Quartet collaborated with composer Mohammed Fairouz, clarinetist David Krakauer and Shakti Mohan, Indian dancer and Bollywood star, in a performance of Fairouz’s Hindustani Dabkeh, performed for BBC World News. Following summer residencies at China’s Great Wall International Music Academy and at Colorado’s Aspen Music Festival, the Quartet’s 2012–2013 season includes performances in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee. In January, the Quartet returns to Israel for appearances in Haifa, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, where guest artist Sharon Kam, clarinet, will join the Quartet for performances of Mozart’s Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in A Major, K. 581.
